Who it’s for

Solepasso IGT Puglia Passito is intended for lovers of rich, full-bodied and intense red wines with a pronounced fruity character and soft tannins. It is ideal for connoisseurs of wines from Southern Italy and Puglia who appreciate a more concentrated and expressive style. An excellent choice to pair with rich dishes, meat, game and aged or spicy cheeses.

Key features

Solepasso is a red wine with the IGT Puglia Passito designation, made from the Primitivo, Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera grape varieties. The vineyards are located in the hilly areas of Puglia, which are particularly well suited to producing high-quality grapes, with limited yields per hectare.

The production process uses 100% Passito grapes. They are hand-harvested when they reach the appropriate level of ripeness and placed in small crates, which are kept in dry, well-ventilated rooms to allow a natural process of drying and concentration to take place. Once this process is complete, the grapes are pressed and fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. This is followed by further ageing in stainless steel tanks and then a short period of bottle ageing.

The wine has an intense red colour, an intense aroma of dried red fruits and a warm, full-bodied and harmonious taste, with soft, elegant tannins and pleasant acidity. The alcohol content is 15.5%, and the recommended serving temperature is 16–18°C.

Unique differentiators

The main distinguishing feature of Solepasso is the Passito technique, in which all the grapes used undergo a natural drying process before vinification. This allows the characteristics of the grapes to become concentrated, creating an intense aromatic and flavour profile.

The blend of Primitivo, Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera brings together characteristic grape varieties from Puglia, while the hillside vineyards with limited yields are dedicated to producing high-quality, concentrated grapes. The wine stands out for its full structure, warm character, soft and elegant tannins, and balancing acidity.

Why this product

Choose Solepasso IGT Puglia Passito if you are looking for a rich and concentrated red wine from Puglia, made using the traditional method with Passito grapes. The combination of Primitivo, Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera, together with the natural grape-drying process, gives the wine an intense fruity character, full body and softness.

It is particularly well suited to rich first courses, meat dishes, game, aged and spicy cheeses. It is an excellent choice for dinner, a special occasion or a relaxing moment of wine tasting by the glass.
